this band certainly is a guilty pleasure of mine. Emo(more like emo in the vein of cap'n jazz then anything) band from philly. Some nice indieish melodies combined with annoying wails.

Colour Haze

A friend introduced me to this band very recently and I must say I'm incredibly impressed. German psychedelic/stoner rock done right.

"Initially, the band seemed to be strongly influenced by the sounds of Black Sabbath - perhaps most notably in their 1999 album, titled Periscope. This style later evolved into an unmistakably dry, bass-laden soundscape. Characteristic of this phase is Kogleks’ continual guitar playing between trance-like bass rhythms. The albums Ewige Blumenkraft and Los Sounds De Krauts allowed the band to further develop this style with longer, more complex song structures, and increasingly strong jam and jazz elements."

I first heard of these guys on a split with Boris (those guys never cease to amaze me) and I thought they were pretty neat. Here's their full-length and it's some really chilled out downtempo stuff with a bit of jazz in the mix. Incredibly relaxing.
