drop the bomb [demo] - kid hood

here's a song that was produced by one of my favourite producers of all time, el-p. circa 92.

edit: this particular rip is from the stretch and bobbito show, around '94.

ka - cold facts

brownsville's ka unleashes grief pedigree upon the world. stepping away from the recent wave of amateurish rhyming laid over lush, dense production, ka's shakespearean lyricism over beats that are in the same lane as the stuff on roc marci's album marcberg is refreshing, kinda. nothing new but it does (somewhat thankfully) step away from the swag/cloud rap thing that everyone seems to be doing now.

burial - kindred

new music from one of my favourite artists. perfect to listen to on a bus or a train, or even while walking in the cold rain. burial is loner music; music for moments that you cherish silently. enjoy.

k-dee - freshest mc in the world

one of the more overlooked west coast artists of the 90s but i can't figure out why. listen to this and lay back and chill. produced by ice cube.

Fatima Al Qadiri - How Can I Resist U

"Fatima Al Qadiri's 'How Can I Resist U' is a love letter to London in general and Dubstep (before it wobbled) in particular. "Lenden" as it's known has become a historic site of pilgrimage for wealthy Arabs seeking the forbidden fruits of sex, drugs and alcohol.

Interspersed with Youtube footage of Ma'alaya dances specific to Gulf countries like UAE and Oman--the super cars, dancing girls and brutalist council estates in the video are part of the down-and-dirty dream that a trip to London signifies for Khaleejis (Gulf Arabs). The color of the video is based on an infamous Arab royal's custom 'Gulf Blue' Koenigsegg CCXR that terrorized the streets of the city's posh neighborhoods." -- F.a-Q

RORT - Demo [2009] + GRIDE - Záškuby Chaosu [2011]

neat little demo from melbourne hardcore band RORT. very enjoyable shit plus it includes a beatbox + freestyle of snoop dogg's "drop it like it's hot".

czech band GRIDE released one of the best grindcore records of 2011. very, very fast (i want to say "pummeling" but that word's been used way too much when describing grind) and bass-y. another thing i noticed were the drums which sound absolutely fucking perfect. DAT SNARE. this album is a must listen. no, really.
