Behemoth's latest

Oh god, this album just finished kicking my ass. These guys need no introduction. Just download this album and enjoy and try to buy it. No excuses.

Circle of Death-Slugathor

Slugathor is a fantastic death metal band from Finland that needs to be talked about more. Here's their 2006 album entitled Circle of Death, which is fucking brutal.

hot damn

Soon as I posted the big business album a few minutes ago, I checked out www.pettingmytapeworm.blogspot.com , a pretty well-established (by now) music blog where I found this: the new Dinosaur Jr. album. HOLYFUCKINGTITS. Listening now.

Big business

Big Business is a three piece band composed of Jarred Warren of Karp, The Whip and Tight Bros From Way Back When, Coady Willis of The Murder City Devils and Dead Low Tide, and, as of early 2008, Toshi Kasai. This record has been on constant rotation on my playlist. Brilliant hard rock band featuring members of the Melvins. A-plus. BTFW, I won an original vinyl of Neil Young's Harvest yesterday at a comedy show(?). I might just go out and hunt for a scanner so I can up that shizz here.

french powerviolence

French powerviolence. Who would've thunk it? But no, these guys and girl serve up some of the rawest powerviolence that I've ever listened to. I'm not pretending to know a whole lot about the genre but I do know what i like. And i like this band.

Interesting fact, this very same band also exists as a blackened-sludgey-doomy-drone project called Monarch!. Same lineup but an entirely different "sound". Now I haven't found any material from this band as of yet, but I'll be sure to post that shit up as soon as i find it.

Intestine Baalism

Melodic death metal and brutal death metal are, albeit having the same roots, almost completely different genres that have been rarely combined to produce a good album. This is not the case with Japan's Intestine Baalism, a band that's absolutely brutal but also very melodic in certain parts. Here's their last album, Ultimate Instinct.

melvins bootleg

I'm not feeling particularly verbose today, so here's a little something that I've taken the liberty of taking from lucidmedia(probably one of my favourite blogs to date). All of Houdini and something from their 1983 demos. Enjoy.

Melechesh

Melechesh, the "Israeli" band that is now based in Holland, have been around since '95, but have only been noted for their unique blend of Sumerian black metal in the past couple of years. Here's 2006's Emissaries.
